Recessionista Swindle of the Day

As soon as it's warm enough for a spring jacket, young new yorkers begin their daydreams of warm summer nights, moving their bodies to the sounds of incredible musicians in city parks. That's part of why we live here, after all. Unfortunately, Central and Prospect Parks have to hold "benefit" concerts as the season begins to raise money for all those freebie gigs. Just too broke to pay to see some of your fave bands? Fret not. Grab your buds, a blanket, and some wine and partake in the oldest of city park pastimes - picnic. Arrive early to snag a spot right outside the gates and dance the night away free from the crowds. You may not be able to see the stage, but no one can complain "We paid to listen to the band, not you!" when you belt out your favorite lyrics! (what, that doesn't happen to you??)
