10th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival at BAM Cafe

BAM Cafe features free live music every Friday and Saturday night, offering tastes of rock, jazz, R&B, world music, pop, and other genres born in Brooklyn and beyond. This Friday and Saturday night, in celebration of 10 years of BAMcafé Live and as part of the 10th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival, the Cafe will host two Brooklyn-based bands emerging into the jazz world here and beyond. BAMcafé is located at 30 Lafayette Street in Fort Greene, Brooklyn.

The Renegade Band
Fri, Apr 24 at 9pm, Bar opens at 8pm
After 25 years, Brooklyn-based The Renegade Band has perfected their groove, combining R&B reggae with Calypso jazz, saturating the sounds with their personal Caribbean flavor and sharing the message of global pride, unity, and respect through the universal language of music.

The New Cookers
Sat, Apr 25 at 9pm, Bar opens at 8pm
A swinging hard bop jazz quintet—born out of the tradition of the late, great jazz genius Freddie Hubbard—The New Cookers are known for their driving rhythms and engaging performances, celebrating the original Brooklyn jazz music makers and adding their own sound to that rich legacy.
